On November 8, 2017 Jiaxing Innovation and Development Investment and Trade Fair (Jiaxing Fair) hosted by the Jiaxing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Jiaxing Municipal People’s Government; undertaken by the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and other development. Funder of InvestCHN Chase Wu and his delegation were invited to participate. Jiaxing Fair is a one of the major economic and trade events organised by the Jiaxing Municipal Government. Since 2001 the first Jiaxing Fair, this year is the 17th Jiaxing Fair. A total of more than 420 projects signed and settled with a total of 150 billion Yuan. The fair is become an important showcase the achievements in reform, an important window for the open image of the region and it also an important platform for publishing investment information and launching investment promotion.

  As the first major economic and trade event held in Jiaxing after the 19th National Congress, this year’s Jiaxing Fair focusing on the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the spirit of “China’s opening door will not close, it will only open wider” with the theme of "Accelerating the construction of high quality foreign capital gathering places and promoting the formation of a new pattern of comprehensive opening up", held series of “1+6” activities with rich content and various forms. “1” is the main activity investment briefing and project signing ceremony, “6” special events are referring to China (Jiaxing) Transnational Procurement and “Internet + Foreign Trade” Matchmaking Conference, Jiaxing E-commerce Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition, “Double Recruitment and Double Citation” project, “one way one road” Jiaxing Investment Promotion Conference, Jiaxing City Cross-border E-commerce Application Talent Competition, China (Jiaxing) Fastener Industry Expo. In addition, the counites (cities, districts) will also arrange special events and onsite visits to industrials.

  This event received many supports from relevant national embassies and consulates, relevant national ministries and commissions, relevant provincial departments, as well as many domestic and foreign enterprises and social organisations. Which more than 350 businessmen from more than 30 countries and regions were invited to participate the event. Consul General of Japan, Korea in Shanghai; Vice Consul General of Czech in Shanghai; Mayor of Diebold, Germany; Vice Mayor of Contagen, Brazil; US consulate officials in Shanghai and other foreign government and embassies and consulate officials; European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, German-Chinese Association, Principal of Shanghai Israel Chamber of Commerce and other Principals of international investment promotion agencies; Principal of domestic and foreign innovation platforms and institutions such as Shanghai Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, guests of top 500 company’s executives from the US, Germany, Japan and other countries were invited to attend the event.

  At the signing ceremony, a total of 44 cooperation projects were signed.

  In these cooperation projects, 2 projects signed by friendships between cities. (Our city signed a memorandum of friendship with the mayor of Diebold, Germany; and signed an agreement to establish friendly exchange relations with the city of Contagen, Brazil).

  One of the investment projects go global, Jian Group invest 290 million USD to purchased 100% shares of Swedish Nordic Paper Company. It is the first and the city’s largest overseas investment project signed in the history of the Jiaxing Fair, which that shows enterprises in our city to go global is accelerating, continuous improvement of the ability to integrate international high end resources.

  Bring in projects 41 with a total investment of over 24.1 billion Yuan. 18 were foreign founded projects with a total investment of 1.92 billion USD; 12 domestic funded projects with a total investment of 9.42 billion Yuan; 11 scientific and technological talent innovation projects with a total investment of 1.92 billion Yuan.

  Projects were involving electronic information, intelligent equipment, new energy, new materials, biomedicine, modern logistics, software and information technology, scientific research and development and other fields. The main sources of foreign investments are from Germany, US, Australia, Singapore, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Malaysia and other countries and regions.

  City leaders presented awards to honorary citizens of Jiaxing City, the winner of “South Lake Friendship Award”, and also the top ten foreign-funded enterprises, and the outstanding investment promotion teams were awarded.

  These years, Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government have keep leading the city which achieved remarkable results on innovation driven development strategy, integrated into the global economy, technology integration development. Currently, the city has attracted more than 7,400 foreign invested enterprises from 96 countries and regions, and the actual use of foreign capital is 27.1 billion USD, which bring in 72 investment projects from top 500 companies.

  Next, Jiaxing will follow the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, opening to outside world basic on national policy, promote the formation of a new pattern, participate with “one way one road”, construction of “greater bay area”, speed up integration with Shanghai Demonstration Zone and construction of a comprehensive innovation and reform of the experimental zone, to build a modern networked garden city with international quality. Insist on bring in and going out investments, deep cooperation in innovation capabilities, to create the construction of high quality foreign investment clusters.
