The beautiful golden autumn in October, the ancient city has a new chapter. On the afternoon of October 28, Yunpeng Wang, Vice General Manager of InvestCHN and his delegation were invited to participate 18th Rugao Science and Technology Talent Fair. The opening ceremony was held in the Rugao Administrative Center Auditorium. From 66 well known universities across the country such as Peking University, Qinghua University, Nanjing University and others, as well as 18 research institutes including Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation 702 Research etc. which more than 300 experts and scholars were invited to participate in the event.

  At the opening ceremony, Xiaodong Chen, Secretary of the Rugao Municipal Party Committee gave a speech entitled “Rugao, a landscape from the South of the Yangtze River”, he in detailed introduce Rugao’s long history and humanities, vivid development practices and broad prospects for development. “Rugao, a landscape from the South of the Yangtze River” vividly shows that although Rugao is located in the north of the Yangtze River, it has the beauty and charm of the south of the Yangtze River; It fully demonstrates that Rugao uses Jiangnan County (city) as a benchmark to further enhance the development positioning.

  During the event, the East China Coal Price Index was officially launched. Rugao was also awarded the honorary title of "China's Hometown of Longevity Food Culture and Art" by the China Folk Artists Association. Qinghua University “one way one road” Strategic Research Institute and the “Health Rugao Joint Research Group Research Base” co-operated by Rugao was officially unveiled.

Focusing on future development, Rugao created railway and new city construction, development of city port and big health industries, modern logistics industries developments, further development of Rugao Port, new energy vehicle industry base construction, “Six command centers” of software park construction. Use these as an important support and strategic engine for the development of the city to promote Rugao to achieve new breakthroughs in industrial, urban and transportation transformation.

  As a national technological innovation demonstration city, Rugao has a national economic and technological development zone, National agricultural science and technology park (Core Area),  National first class open port, Provincial-level high technology industrial development zone, Provincial Key Industrial Park, 8 square kilometres of software and information service outsourcing industry base, constructing 10 square kilometers of new energy automobile industry base, 25.5 square kilometres urban water system will be connected soon, 30 square kilometres railway new city has already started on its framework, 204 square kilometres of Rugao Port is in the processing of development, “a large port with a million TEUs and a hundred million tons” the prospects are extremely broad.
