On the 22nd times meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress closed on 17th of October 2020, which it revised the National Emblem Law and the revised law will act on the 1st of January 2021.
Weidong Tong, Director of the National Law Office of the Legal Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress said that the national emblem is a symbol and sign of the country, represents the authority and dignity of the country, and is an important part of the national system. This time the scope of the revision of the National Emblem Law isn’t small, mainly to improve the standards of the National Emblem, increase the occasions and norms for its use, Clarify the Supervision Department and etc.
“According to the characteristics of the national emblem, grasp the different requirements, insisting on standardisation, mainly regulate the use of state agencies.” Weidong Tong said.
The revised National Emblem Law clarifies, that citizens can wear the national emblem badge on solemn occasions, to express patriotic feelings.
According to the revised law, the national emblem should be an important content of patriotism education. Primary schools and secondary schools should educate students to understand the of history and spiritual connotation of the national emblem.
