2018 China-Korea New Energy Vehicle Technology Exchange Negotiation Match-Making Conference was successfully held by the Shanghai International Automobile City, the Automobile Innovation Port and the Korean government agency KOTRA at the Automotive Innovation Port Conference Center. This conference is also the series of activities of Shanghai International Automobile City's “Spark Action Endless” International Automotive Technology Matchmaking Conference is last event in the early half of this year.
The “Spark Action” is an international automotive technology matchmaking event launched in April 2018. It is sponsored by Shanghai International Automobile City (Group) Co., Ltd. and Auto Innovation Port, Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Centre is a support unit, the Intelligent Networked Automotive Industry Technology Joint Innovation Centre, China Automotive Talent Research Association and Shanghai International Automobile City Development Service Company co-organized. The purpose is to reach consensus with the consulates of various automobile powers, investment agencies and other institutions to jointly promote information sharing, technology and exchange communcation of visits between the international automotive industry, establish a normalized multi-party platform, and accelerate the independent innovation and development of intelligent connected vehicles in the region, effectively graft the global intelligent connected vehicle resources, and extensively carry out deeper international cooperation and exchanges.
KOTRA the co-organiser of the event, is a semi-official non-profit trade promotion organization representing the Republic of Korea with 124 representative offices in 84 countries. The KOTRA led more than 20 key government supported enterprises in the fields of intelligent network, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, new energy vehicle batteries, safe driving, wireless charging and other technical areas to participate in this matchmaking meeting.
During the early half of the event, a number of Korean companies represented their showcases, which were from laser radar, video processing, lightweight materials and other smart driving related industry segments. In the later half of the event, the one-to-one exchange of Chinese and Korean companies was carried out. It was exciting and the representatives of both sides expressed great experience.
This technical matchmaking meeting aims to help Chinese and Korean car companies to actively participate in the international new energy vehicle construction and development plan, to take advantage of the automotive field in both sides, and looking for joint ventures and cooperation with counterpart enterprises. The organisers hope to take this opportunity to promote the cooperation between the two countries to develop online platforms, explore the cooperation mode between the two companies in the e-commerce service platform such as automobile sales and fast repair, and use the mature sales network to conduct business. At the same time, this event is to open up the technology and barriers markets of the two countries, and enter the Chinese automotive aftermarket through the localisation of Korean companies in China to carry out scale investment and docking. The event will also help the two major parts companies of the two countries to engage in a closer communcations. On the one hand, they will cut into the OE supporting system for new cars in China and South Korea, and enhance the awareness of OEMs and end consumers; on the other hand, they will depend on the layout of large parts companies in the aftermarket to enable the company to enter the after-sales market smoothly, and then develop the second and third-level supporting system, and take the "express train" of the development of the first tier supplier into the Chinese and Korean markets.
