  The Prince Kung’s Palace Museum is located in Liuyin Street, Xicheng area, Beijing. It is a national cultural protection unit, Classified as first -class national museum in China, the national 5A tourist attraction. The Prince Kung’s Palace Museum also is the largest palace complex in the Qing Dynasty.

  The Prince Kung’s Palace Musuem was built in Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. From the beginning, it is the private residence of Shen He (Bachelor).   The third generation owner in the early years of Tongzhi, Prince Yixin Gong was also a minister of political affairs and military foreman with other important positions. When he owned this large mansion garden, he repaired and reconstructed the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum. It is the last time that Prince Kung’s Mansion was formatted with the building scale and pattern.

  The Prince Kung’s Palace Museum is divided into middle, east and west three roads, composed of multiple courtyards, backside is a two story rear cover building with a length of 160 meters. The building has gone through the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from greatest time to dying, it also carrying extremely rich historical and cultural information. Currently, there is a way of saying that “ a palace of Prince Kung’s Mansion, have half of the history of the Qing Dynasty”.

  After the Qing Dynasty, the property rights are belonged to Fu Jen Catholic University. In the early 1980’s, the Prince Kung’s Palace has become a large courtyard housed by eight companies, over hundreds of households live in the Prince Kung’s Palace. To repair the Prince Kung’s Palace firstly is to relocated people. In 1988, the garden of the Prince Kung’s Palace was opened to the public. In 2008, after the completed the renovation project of the Prince Kung’s Palace, it was fully opened to public. Under the three generation of Council leaders Enlai Zhou, Mu Gu and Lanqing Li the repairing process was completed in 28 years. At that time, this made the Prince Kung’s Palace is the only Qing Dynasty palace open to public in China.
